Wednesday social competition

On Wednesday nights from 7-9pm we run social competition table tennis. It costs $5 a night for adults and $2 a night for school-age (or you can pay for the whole roster or the whole year). We play three rosters each year. Each roster is normally 14 weeks. In between rosters and during school term breaks we run practice nights/coaching sessions instead. We also play one off singles and doubles competitions, and at the end of every year we hold a club championships. We start each year on the Wednesday before Australia Day, and end each year on the first Wednesday in December.

How does Wednesday night social competition table tennis work?

Everyone who plays Wednesday night social table tennis is assigned into a team. Each week your team plays a series of matches against another team. You'll usually play two doubles matches and three singles matches. The aim is to win, but it is all about having fun.

Table Tennis Tasmania maintains a complete list of rules and regulations  on their website.

Do I need to come every week?

If you play Wednesday night social competition table tennis, you need to try and be available to play every week for the duration of that season (which is normally 14 weeks). We understand some absences are expected (life is like that), but in order for us to find a substitute player we ask you give as much notice to us as possible if you can't attend. Thoughout the seasons your team will normally have two byes.
