We have a proud history, over nearly 30 years, of welcoming people with different abilities and from different backgrounds.
In August 2021, in partnership with Delgunyah Disability Services, DTTL began a weekly after-school table tennis program. Community table tennis uses the sport to break down barriers and promote connection, belonging as well as self-development. The program runs from 3-5pm each and every Thursday.
Our community table tennis program continues to grow. Players include young people living with a disability and their carers/family/friends, primary and high school students, seniors, seasonal workers, families, DTTL members, and anyone just wanting to have fun and give it a go. We have 9 tables (including 5 wheelchair tables), equipment for everyone, and coaching is available. We also have a table tennis ball machine and a virtual-reality headset (for playing table tennis). It costs a gold coin donation to play (if you can afford it).
We would like to sincerely thank Deloraine Lions Club, Westbury Health and the Meander Valley Council for their ongoing support for our Thursday afternoon community table tennis program.
